POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a physician or RN, the Medical Assistant provides patient care in a clinic environment. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized setting for patients during their visits. Utilizes appropriate equipment and resources to support clinical services and assists in administrative tasks.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Skills: Effective oral and written communication; familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer use.
Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
Experience: One to two years in outpatient or clinic care preferred.
Training: Current CPR certification.
Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional support of patients in distress.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Clinical Testing and Procedures
Perform urine dipstick tests and pregnancy tests.
Collect blood samples via finger stick for glucose and hematocrit.
Label and prepare specimens for lab processing.
B. Patient Care
Record vital signs, height, and weight.
Prepare patients for exams and assist physicians during procedures.
Administer medications as directed (if certified).
Educate patients and families on treatments and follow-up care.
Apply or change dressings and assist with minor procedures.
Provide age-appropriate care across life spans.
Input orders and documentation into EMR.
C. Records Management
Document patient history and subjective health concerns.
Organize lab and imaging reports, referrals, and procedure notes.
Record administered medications and patient reactions.
D. Supplies and Equipment
Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and ensure exam rooms are stocked.
Clean and sterilize instruments per protocol.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
Promote positive patient relations.
Follow infection control and safety procedures.
Collaborate with staff and providers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 60-minute lunch break.
